Day 1: God Works in Hidden Places

Scripture: Genesis 1:2 - “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”

The first thing Scripture shows us is not light. It is darkness. Before order. Before clarity. Before form. The Spirit of God hovered over what looked unfinished. This matters because many of us assume God waits for things to look right before He moves. The Bible says the opposite.

God specializes in beginnings that don’t look impressive. He works where nothing seems organized yet. He moves where progress feels invisible. Incubation often feels like silence. But silence is not absence. It is attention. When God hovers, He is not rushed. He is intentional.

If you feel like your life is in between right now, you are not late. You are being positioned. Hidden seasons protect fragile things. Exposure too early can damage what isn’t ready.

Ask yourself honestly: Are you trying to be seen before you are formed? God does not rush creation. He speaks when the time is right.

Reflection: Where do you feel unfinished or unclear right now?

Prayer: God, I surrender my need for clarity and speed. Hover over the places in me that feel formless. Do what only You can do in the hidden. I trust Your process.

Practice:

  • Sit in silence for five minutes today.

    • No words.

    • No music.

  • Just awareness of God’s presence.

  • Stay open.

This is only the beginning.
